History Uzbekistan goes way back to the B.C. and A.D. era but started developing as a country very recently about the 1700 or 1800s. They Gained Independence from the Soviet Union on September 1,1991 and became National Independence day. The Constitution was adopted September 8, 1992

Government The President of Uzbekistan is both the Head of State and the Head of Government. The president is elected through elections. Several political parties in Uzbekistan take part in the elections. President of Uzbekistan

Economic System The legal system is based on civil law system; has not accepted compulsory ICJ jurisdiction They consist of Judicial, Executive, Legislative Branches.

Religion Islam is the most popular religion faith in Uzbekistan. Russians remaining in the republic were Orthodox Christians And others are Jews.

Language The official language of Uzbekistan is the Uzbek Language and Russian is the language. Many alphabets of Arab, Turkish and Latin dominated the local language of Uzbekistan. Uzbekistan Language is actually the creation of the Soviet state.

Etiquette Women are expected to be decent in dress, with clothing covering their entire body. In public they may walk with their head tilted down to avoid unwanted attention. Women generally sit with legs together, their hands in their laps. When men aren't present women act much more casually. Men typically greet each other with a handshake, the left hand held over the heart. Women place their right hand on the other's elbow. If they are close friends or relatives, they may kiss each other on the cheeks.

Geography Uzbekistan is located in Central Asia, north of Afghanistan Their area can be compared to slightly the size of California Their Land Boundaries border the following Afghanistan, Kazakhstan , Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan.
