Two Acts Social Services and Wellbeing Act (2014) Wellbeing of Future Generations Act (2015) Both require assessments of the local area Slightly different focus but work together Different geographic level of assessment SSWB – ‘Region’ – Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan WFG – LA – Cardiff LA, Vale of Glamorgan LA ‘Let’s talk’ engagement brand

Population needs assessment Required under SSWB Act For Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan But lower geographies too, key populations and issues Should identify: ‘Care and support needs’ Including carers, preventative needs ...and specify ‘Range and level of services’ to meet the needs identified as far as possible
