CIVIL AUTHORITY Text: I Timothy 2:2

Introduction “Then they called them in again and commanded them not to speak or teach it all in the name of Jesus. 19. But Peter and John replied, ‘Judge for yourselves whether it is right in God’s sight to obey you rather than God. 20. For we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.” Acts 4:18-20

I. WE ARE TO OBEY CIVIL LAW (Romans 13:1,2) “By me kings reign and rulers make laws that are just; 16. by me princes govern, and all the nobles who rule on earth.” Proverbs 8:15, 16

II. WE ARE TO PRAY FOR CIVIL LEADERS\SERVANTS (I Timothy 2:1-2) “I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for every one 2. for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.” I Timothy 2:1,2
