Philmont History Donated to the BSA by Waite Phillips in 1938 214 Square Miles 6500 to 12441 feet in elevation Has been inhabited by Ancient Indians Spanish Conquistadors Land Barons like Lucien Maxwell Mountain Men like Kit Carson Miners, loggers, and cowboys All left their mark on the area and you will get the opportunity to experience it all.
