Collaborations State National International SCERT British Council UK NCERT IASE RMSA USAID NUEPA DEO Schools of the state

Pre Service Training Programme Courses Offered - i) M.Ed. ii) B.Ed. No. of seats in M.Ed. - Departmental –44 Freshers - 06 No. of seats in B.Ed. – Departmental -75 Freshers – 75 .

PRE-SERVICE PROGRAMME Major Challenges New syllabus for B.Ed./M.Ed. 02 years course – No clarity of syllabus. Non availability of study material for newly introduced subjects. Teachers not prepared with new syllabus. No clarity on evaluation.

MEASURES ADOPTED TO OVER COME THE CHALLENGES Capacity building/orientation program in two phases of faculties of CTE & other private colleges. Collected study material from NCERT, SCERT & INTERNET & translated it in Hindi. Exposure to different B.Ed. Colleges for sharing ideas related to new syllabus. To get better clarity on new syllabus had discussion with Dean/ Experts of university. Frequent academic interactions among faculty members of CTE & SCERT for better teaching learning process.

IN SERVICE PROGRAMME Major Challenges Only institution in state to cater academic needs of 27 districts. Limited financial resources. Access to H.S.S is difficult due to limited resources. Inadequate contingency amount to meet regular expenses. Proper functioning of DIET is major responsibility of CTE.DIET do not have adequate faculty.

MEASURES ADOPTED TO OVER COME THE CHALLENGES Training provided to the teacher as per the demands of concerning District Education Officer. Seeking support from District Education Officer & Block Education Officer for academic monitoring.

INSERVICE PROGRAMME Janpahal- workshop on Microplanning. Workshop on Module development for orientation of Principal's . Need based training to teachers of Science and Maths. INSERVICE PROGRAMME Workshop on TLM preparation for B.Ed./M.Ed. Students Workshop on Action Research for H.S.S. teachers. Material Developed by CTE – Chhattisgarh ki bhajiyan. Vishay ki samajh. Souvenir. Aparajita. Gudadi ke lal.

OUR SCHOOL SUPPORT PROGRAMME Providing continuous academic support to our 20 lab schools Support to schools to prepare school improvement plan- “Sajha Pahal”. On the spot academic support to teachers.

ISSUES No. of CTE's should be increased. Insufficient academic & support staff. No. of CTE's should be increased. More equipments & facilities under ICT is needed. Lack of study material, specially for hindi speaking states. Support from National Level for Orientation/Capacity building of faculty. Inadequate contingency amount to meet regular expenses. Limited financial resources of Rs. 25.00 Lacs for all activities. (Continued…..)

ISSUES Allotment of schools to students for school experience program is very difficult because CTE is academic institution & schools are not in their administrative control. Provision of grant of Rs. 3.00 Lacs for Vehicle Hiring is provided only to those institutes which do not have their own Vehicle. The vehicle provided to CTE by State Govt. is mostly used for Administrative purpose. So proper Academic monitoring is not possible by one vehicle, therefore vehicle hiring grant should be provided to all CTE without the above condition. (Continued…..) .

ISSUES Current parameters used by NAAC to assess CTE gives weightage only on pre-service training program. While at CTE, our main activity apart from pre-service is to impart in-service training and support to schools/DIET's. So while assessing CTE, separate norms should be considered & weightage should be given by NAAC

ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT YEAR 2014-15 99% Result in B.Ed. & 100% Result in M.Ed. GOLD MEDAL awarded to a student of M.Ed. Out of Top Ten in Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur, 9 students were from our college.
