Introduction: Meeting schedule, AUW agenda, etc V. Fadeyev on behalf of Y. Unno and C. Lacasta 2014-03-17 Introduction
Meeting Schedule Schedule: We obviously need a meeting before Freiburg. I.e., this meeting. We will have a session in Freiburg on Monday morning, April 7 (3 hours). The idea is to have a phone follow-up meetings every 6 weeks after that. Time: The current time almost works, but not completely. Would people be open to an alternative of 7:00 at CERN, 22:00 in CA, and 14:00 in Japan? 2014-03-17 Introduction
This meeting Agenda The agenda follows the one for the previous meeting, with a few changes as requested. 2014-03-17 Introduction
AUW Agenda 3 themes: sensor production, basic irradiation studies, everything else. The agenda and time/talk is to be tuned as the new results come in. Naturally, advanced notification of the talks is much appreciated! Do we want to have more of an overview talks instead? Charge collection, currents, surface properties measurements… 2014-03-17 Introduction
Market Survey with CMS Market survey for the mass production of the sensors. Quotes from Marko Dragicevic (CMS): In CMS we are thinking about launching it still in 2014 as we will need plenty of time to qualify any new vendors that show up there. We already had a first meeting with CERNs procurement office and they suggested to do the MS together with the ATLAS community which we think is a very good idea. If you allow me, I would also show 1 or 2 slides on that issue just to foster that idea in you community. 2014-03-17 Introduction
Aside: Some thoughts on 8” wafers 8” wafer size would help endcap sensors, but not necessarily the barrel ones. The big issue is efficient “paving” of the area. Case A Case B Case C Case D (inspired by D. Muenstermann’s HV CMOS presentation) Making good use of 8” wafers would perhaps be possible, but it comes at the “cost” of different module size. Either longer sensor, or two narrower ones (4 chips wide instead 5 chips wide). 2014-03-17 Introduction
