IE Curriculum and Co-teaching IE is for non-native English speakers. It helps build all skills of English learning and emphasizes oral literacy and academic language. Its purpose is to help students with their transition to mainstream classroom. IE students attend instruction in Reading and Language Arts classes five days a week. General Rules Each day when students arrive they will join their class in the gym to line-up and walk in with their teacher at 8:30. Students can bring a small snack each day for snack time. Pick up is at 4:00 and parents or drivers need to come into the school to get students. Students will be waiting in the hall by the elevators.

Homework All students should read at least 20 minutes each night. IE student homework is dependent on level and teacher Homework may differ slightly from teacher to teacher Homework should not take more than one hour a night with the exception of the occasional special project Chinese teachers also give homework If your child is struggling with his/her multiplication facts, please have your child practice using multiplication flashcards on a nightly basis for 5-10 minutes. Students should know their facts automatically in order to be successful in math computation as the problems become more challenging.

Success Orientations During the year we will be focusing on following seven traits. Trustworthiness Responsibility Concern for Others Kindness/Politeness Group Interaction Aesthetic Appreciation Independent Endeavor QSI considers these success orientations to be primary indicators of future success in advanced education, employment, and life in general. Our hope is to nurture and develop students who are caring and well-rounded.

Moodle During emergency school closures students need to log onto Moodle to get their work. Useful classroom and course information is also available on Moodle. This is also where you can read bi-weekly classroom newsletters. Website: http://learning.qsishenzhen.org/ Login: Students PBE# minus the zero Password: default is dragons, then reset
