Danish-Chinese Film Talent Camp 2017 We are seeking a sponsor, who can see an asset in being a part of a Danish-Chinese cultural meeting and talent development program. In August and October young Danish and Chinese film talents will meet to inspire and learn from each other at two camps in Odense and Chengdu - Chinas cultural capitol.
Danish-Chinese Film Talent Camp - briefly explained Danish-Chinese Film Talent Camp is the first Danish-Chinese film camp, which is based on the needs, young Danish and Chinese film creators have and the possibilities, we have in Denmark and China to fulfill them. Two camps of 9 days, a workshop in Odense with focus on fictional stories and participation in Odense International Film festival (OFF) and a camp in Chengdu in Kina with focus on documentaries. The purpose is to develop competences and secure an exchange of experiences. The young people will inspire each other, learn new production methods and approaches to the film- and TV media. The focal point in the learning process is storytelling, and the methods are pitching, coaching and feedback. The good story and development of the good character is the main focus. The Talent Camp is offered to 10 young chosen Danish and 10 chosen Chinese film makers, who gets the opportunity to develop their film competences, achieve diversity in film language and create a professional network.
Focus on fiction: Introduction to Danish culture. August 2017: Talent Camp Odense: Focus on fiction: Introduction to Danish culture. Participation in the opening of Odense International Film festival. Masterclasses with Danish filmmakers, idea development and pitch. Development of stories. Pre-production. Production and editing. Premiere of the films and feedback. October 2017: Talent Camp Chengdu: Focus on documentaries: Introduction to Chengdu and Chinese culture. Masterclasses with Chinese filmmakers. Production and editing. Screening of their own movies. Premiere of the documentary films and feedback. Fall and winter: We help with internships in both China and Denmark.
This we can offer! Visibility in press material in Danish and Chinese, on social medias and during events in China on WeChat. Great photos and videos from workshops, which you can use in your own branding in Denmark and China. A VIP-event, where we will show the films for you and your associates. This can take place in both Odense and Chengdu with our partners ALLAB. Use of your location for shooting the films. Name on the crew t-shirts

This is why we work with the project Vision: Danish Chinese Film Talent Camp will be the place where young Danish and Chinese film talents will meet across cultures, language and production methods to enhance their competences, network, achieve diversity in film language and start film collaborations. The Camp will be the launching pad for more formalized film educational initiatives between the two countries. Interest and need from the Chinese is present, and Denmark has achieved a high reputation as a film country. In Denmark only few young people know of the Chinese film language and –production and the possibilities available in China, where the film industry is thriving. Prospects A rising number of Chinese producers are focusing towards Europe. More are seeing Funen and Denmark as a new and exciting tableau for film productions. We wish to create more Danish-Chinese collaborations in the media palette.
Three partners Odense Filmværksted Works with talent development. Former camps success is shown in the participants excited evaluations. Some participants has subsequent been accepted in to the Danish Film school and other European film schools. ALLAB ALLAB is a network company, which has specialized in mediation of cultural activities in and outside of China. ALLAB secures contact to the Chinese film environment and are responsible for the workshop in Chengdu – the cultural capitol in Chinas biggest province, Sichuan. Lifelong Learning is a Danish-Chinese company, who among other things are behind a production of a Chinese film and a seminar on Chinese short films on OFF. Working together we involve relevant people in the film- and media industry in the two countries.

About Odense Filmværksted Our vision is to enhance the development of film talents, create national and international collaborations and lift the talents to the level of the industry. We have with great success had Talent Camp for European film talents through the last many years, but this year we wish to create international ties to China, where we see great development possibilities for both us and the Chinese. We have expanded our team with Martin Strange-Hansen, Oscar winner and short film expert, who will participate at the Camp in Odense and Chengdu. At Odense Filmværksted we work with securing talent development and renewal of Danish film art through economical support, coaching and loans of professional equipment for film productions.
