Sports Dietitians As a sports dietitian, your primary job is to consult with and counsel athletes on the volume and timing of macro/micronutrient intake. Also educate and instruct athletes on effective eating habits, scheduling the protein and carbs throughout different training phases. Physical Therapy Assistant Prerequisite Courses: Biology I Anatomy and Physiology I and II English I Intro to Psychology Medical Terminology Communications related course, and College Algebra or Statistics (or other math-related course) Requirements for applying to PT Assistant School: Take ACT or SAT and submit scores Minimum 2.0 GPA Fill out apps Provide official transcripts from all high schools and colleges Min. 10-50 hours of volunteering/observing Physical Therapists 2 or more references

Exercise Physiology As of currently, there is no nationally standardized academic, certification or licensure requirements to practice as an exercise physiologist as the profession in currently unregulated and it is relatively new. A bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology or another closely related area is pretty much considered the entry-level required to be an EP, however most healthcare facilities required their EP’s to have a master’s degree or higher.

Athletic Training ATCs are required to be licensed and have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited program and comprehensive field experience, and needs to pass the standardized Board of Certification exam. Personal training is a “fitness” occupation and athletic training is a “healthcare” occupation, similar yet different. Personal trainers are more of exercise instructors/coaches with a variety of degrees in education and they are not considered practitioners.

Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist A bachelor’s degree is required to become a CSCS. Primarily focuses on strength, power, agility and speed. More educated in sports performance area and science than the average certified personal trainer. Focuses more on physical ability. CSCS Requirements

CSCS Requirements 4 year bachelor’s degree in any subject A bachelor of science in kinesiology, exercise science, or any related major is highly recommended to prepare for this certification exam Passing the CSCS exam Complete 6 continuing education credits (CECs) every 2-year period to maintain certification
