Steel horses in the valley of waterfalls

The water power of the Krka river attracted many industrialists here to build hydroelectric plants and other production plants. Along the river's course are three hydroelectric plants constructed at the turn of the 20th century

Jaruga hydroelectric plan is found at Skradinski buk and it is second oldest hydropower plant in the world and first in Europe It was built on 28 August 1895, just two days after the world's first hydroelectric power plant at Niagara Falls Hydroelectric plant Jaruga

It was built 11.5 km long transmission line on wooden poles to the nearby Šibenik and Šibenik was the first town in the world which got alternating electric current for their facilities

Hydroelectric plant Miljacka Miljacka hydroelectric plant is the largest on the Krka River Its construction began in 1904 and, until 1910, it was the most powerful hydroelectric plant in Europe

Hydroelectric plant Roški slap Small hydropower plant, which was built in 1909 in the position of Roški slap in the Krka river It is one of the first hydropower plant built in the Croatia and in Europe
