Flagship Campus of University of California System The UC Berkeley Campus Campus daily population of 45,000 6,600+ campus parking spaces Regional freeways are several miles from campus – vehicles must travel through congested city streets Well served by public transit systems Flagship Campus of University of California System Parking & Transportation - University of California, Berkeley

Transportation Demand Management P&T is the Department who institutes and administers transportation based on an increased demand to accommodate commuter programs. P & T offers a comprehensive package of alternative programs to encourage the use of alternative transportation to reduce traffic and parking demand and contribute to the protection of the environment Currently, more than 50% of campus employees and 90% of students use alternative transportation to travel to and from the campus Parking & Transportation - University of California, Berkeley

Sustainable Programs P&T have Implemented AC Transit Pass Programs Employee TransLink Bear Pass Provides an unlimited ride pass for employees on AC Transit lines Over 1,000 current participants Current participation doubles the number of AC Transit users prior to the program Participants pay a deeply discounted rate Benefits Over 250,000 employee rides annually $400+ thousand revenue to AC Transit annually UC employees pay $37per mo./$444.oo per year with nearly a 50% savings in comparison to what the general public pays to ride AC Transit at $70 per mo./$840 per year The TransLink card stores value for transit passes like the Bear Pass and also functions as a “SMART” card Allows access to Muni, Ferries, Transbay Terminal, and soon BART Parking & Transportation - University of California, Berkeley
