Duration: Month 6 to Month 24 Description of the work package WP3. Development of the innovative virtual interuniversity network for resilience management educational cooperation Duration: Month 6 to Month 24 Description of the work package WP3 aims at developing a collaborative network for the teaching of resilience management among HEIs and not academic institutions. The core of this network is an open source platform for the delivery of materials proposed within the WP2 concerning the teaching and the methodology to organize innovative courses and to use new teaching tools (practice management and intelligent systems). In addition this network will enable and promote lifelong learning at large within the society by making study materials accessible outside traditional classroom environment to various parties within the society from students, teachers to practitioners and policy makers. The network will ensure not only the feed-forward (information/knowledge from centre to the beneficiaries) but also feedback (from beneficiaries to the centre). It is expected that a spiral effect will be created to continuous improvement of the knowledge and material. 16/04/2014

WP3. Development of the innovative virtual interuniversity network for resilience management educational cooperation The consortium partners will organize the use of practice management with a concrete involvement of not academic organizations in the teaching and learning. To this purpose the experience of P1 and P2 in institutional and organization building through virtual reality and Simulimpresa offer to the project a concrete and tested tool. Three major components have been identified as the main elements of the network: Development of the intelligent computer learning systems for resilience management (ICLS-RM). Integration of concept of ICLS-RM with illustrative content of augmented reality. Development of the virtual teaching environment. The development of this network will develop international relations, enhance quality assurance, manage teaching and student services and triangulate knowledge creation and dissemination with education, innovation and research. During the project training courses for academic and not academic and administrative staff will be implemented. 60 teachers, 45 managers and 30 administrative staff will be trained during the pilot project for half a year in stages/internships and distance learning. Content of ICLS-RM will be developed based on the five priorities of the Hyogo framework for Action and a ten-point checklist (local governments commit to implement disaster risk reduction activities along these Ten Essentials) for making cities resilient. 16/04/2014
