Florida Public Hurricane Loss Model v6.2 Condo Unit Losses March 13-15, 2017 Deficiencies letter item

Treatment of unknown location of unit: 1. Investigate the condo-unit floor location impact on loss costs. How is lack of floor location treated? Treatment of unknown location of unit: The expected unit damage value is computed using the average expected interior damage ratio for the entire building. This is equivalent to computing the damage value at each story and then taking the average. FPHLM v6.2 March 13-15, 2017. Florida International University

Sample: 8,154,591 personal residential policies 1. Investigate the condo-unit floor location impact on loss costs. How is lack of floor location treated? – Cont’d. Wind portfolios stats Sample: 8,154,591 personal residential policies Condo units: 883,344 (~11%) Missing unit location: 300,459 (~34%) When location of unit is given but number of stories is not, the number of stories is set to the location of unit.
