Introducing Mrs. Dye Came to Etiwanda in 1988 Stayed home to raise kids for 8 years Been back 19 years Matt graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with a Chemical Engineering degree Shannon graduated from Univ. of Florida with a Wildlife Conservation degree Married 30 years! Love books, movies, and traveling Happy to be here with your children!

Suggested Supply List Counter has samples! Helping Hands-Kleenex, paper towels, and soap! Textbooks- Cover them! Books can stay at home. We are not liable if they leave them here! Chromebooks will be checked out to students on Aug. 9th. They are liable for damage, just like textbooks in their possession are.

Grades Online Grades are updated every week! Make sure to give us the email address(es) that you want us to send the Thursday email to. Please print neatly!! Renaissance program is for 3.0 or higher. 4.0 dinner in Spring for those who had a 4.0 last Spring and can earn a 4.0 the next two times!

Reading Logs 700 pages required per trimester RECORD WEEKLY! Forms are stapled into the Thursday Folders Star Wars ships sail around room! *One assigned novel per month.

Missing/Late/No Name/Absent work Missing work can be found online by scrolling through student grades. You can sign up for weekly grade emails through our school. Check the “No Name” box!! (partial credit) You have until the following Friday to make up absent work for full credit.

Language Arts StudySync-online Lit program. Read on the weekends!! (700 pages per trimester) Star Wars ships!!

Writing Focus is on proving what students think by quoting evidence from the text. They will also be asked to give/implement peer review feedback. Performance Tasks will be on one of the following: Fictional Narrative, Response to Literature, or Argumentative writing.

Academic Standards We will be reading a variety of stories and articles connected to four 45-day themes like “In Pursuit” and “Justice Served” Students will be completing a culminating essay based on the unit theme. Emphasizes collaboration for generating ideas.

Social Studies Middle Ages of: Islam China Japan Africa Europe Reformation Renaissance Mesoamerica Lesson quizzes each Wednesday! Extra credit videos, movies, and field trips!

Movie/Video Clips Movies are usually PG or PG-13 Clearplay technology edits content for language, violence, etc. History videos are made by a high school teacher and set to current music.

Watch D.O.G.S. Program! Pizza and information night on Wednesday, August 30th at 6pm! We had many dads help out last year. We’d love to have you join us this year!
