Who is Catapult Learning? We partner with Trenton Catholic Academy to support your child. Catapult Learning has been helping schools close the achievement gap for more than three decades. Catapult Learning’s Instructional Model Teachers provide systematic and explicit instruction in math and reading Direct Instruction Guided Practice Independent Practice & Application Initial Assessment Results drive personalized learning plan Each scripted lesson is carefully scaffolded and includes direct instruction in concept development through modeling, guided practice, and independent practice and application activities in the following format: Brief Review and Practice: Teacher introduces interactive activities designed to review basic skills and previously taught concepts. Math Vocabulary :Teacher introduces appropriate mathematical language for new lesson. Concept Development Teacher instructs and models using manipulative and pictorials. Guided Practice: Students demonstrate newly taught skill with guidance from teacher. Independent Practice: Individually or in groups, students demonstrate what they have learned with little or no assistance. Problem Solving: Students apply the newly learned skill to determine how to solve a problem. Lesson Summary and Daily Lesson Assessment: Students articulate what they have learned during the lesson and students take an assessment of what they learned that day to determine of any skills need to be retaught. Personalized practice that meets students where they are and takes them to where they need to be. Now available via the PC, iPad, or other tablets. How Does My Student Access Stride from Home? Go to Web Browser. Enter http://www.stridestart.com Enter the student’s KCC code. Choose the student’s name. Enter password if necessary. Have participants watch the bonus video. This is worth 4 coins if watched until the end. If they stop in the middle it will start over when they click again. Videos are between 3-4 minutes long and can only be watched once every day. The option disappears from the student’s screen once it is watched.
