What is an Instructional Coach? Written Timed Round Robin Definition of an Instructional Coach, in 10 words of less. What does an Instructional Coach do? (KCUSD) What does an Instructional Coach NOT do? (KCUSD) A few words describing your success as a coach in KCUSD using your current definition of a coach.

Reading from Blended Coaching Bloom, Castagna, Moir and Warren (2005) What is Coaching? As you read, be ready to share your reflections with others. How do you apply this definition with your work here in KCUSD?

Open Discussion- Coaching What are the characteristics of an instructional coach? What should “a day in the life of an instructional coach” look like? What is the primary responsibility of an instructional coach? What support is available to instructional coaches to improve their craft? Though each site has different needs and desires, what are the commonalities of the role of a coach in KCUSD? Document this conversation for further reflection.

BREAK Back in 15 minutes.
