Impressionism 9b gumnazia№2 Kolomna by Daria Vasileva Supervised by Ulia Kudinova Kolomna 2013
The theme of my talk is “Impressionism” to present the world of impressionism in al its variety
This style was used especially in France between 1870 and 1900 by such painters as Monet, Cezzanne and Pissarro
This style produces effects by use of colour rather than by details of form. The French impressionists often painted directly from nature.
Positions of impressionism: Science of colour The Impressionist Palette The Impressionist technique Here I can also mention Claude Oscar Monet.

As the light changes the Impressionist stops working Returning on a day when the light is similar

The broken brushstrokes and the high key of colour provoke criticism
They paint on white or very lightly tinted grounds add to brilliance of colour
Edgar Degas Georges Seurat 1834-1917 1859-1891
Paul Cezanne 1839-1906
Vincent van Gogh 1853-1890
This mixture of artists is what makes the subject so interesting and challenging.
Impressionism is the result of simultaneous vision that sees a scene as a whole.

The landscape painter has to consider “local colour”, “atmospheric colour” and “illumination colours” and take into consideration “complementary colours”.
“The principal person in a picture is light” Claude Oscar Monet
It has been called Divisionism, Luminism and Pointillism This new intensive study brought about a new palette and a new technique. It has been called Divisionism, Luminism and Pointillism
This technique was not invention of one man but the outcome of a whole group of men. Such as Camille Pissarro, Claude Monet and Auguste Renoir.
