Weidmuller Tool Warranty Tool Warranty – Detailed Weidmuller Tool Warranty Tools & Ferrules Tools include cutters, wire strippers, crimpers, pliers, screwdrivers, testers, automated equipment, ferrules, lugs and any other item found in the Weidmuller Tool Catalog. Term 1 year from end customer date of purchase. Defects Tools analyzed by Weidmuller and determined to be “defective” will be replaced. A tool that is out of compliance with standards due to “normal wear and tear” will not be eligible for replacement under warranty. Mishandling Mishandling nulls the warranty. Includes damage due to: dropping, running over with vehicles or equipment, submerging in liquids, use outside of ambient temperature, and other acts causing physical damage to the tool. Also includes improper use: wrong settings for wire gauges or torque, using non-Weidmuller ferrules or lugs with crimp tools and automatic crimpers, cutters used on steel cable, screwdriver used as lever and other acts against the manufacturer’s intended use for the tool. Tool Calibration and Certification Calibration: To align the tool performance and production/output with industry standards. (i.e. repair/service). If a tool is deemed “out of calibration” it needs to be repaired or replaced. Certification: Proof the tool complies with industry standards. The certificate is issued by an individual authorized to test the tool and validate that it performs to or complies with standards. Testing includes “pull force” testing of crimped ferrules or use of torque meter. 1 Year period required by UL inspectors. Calibration Certification NOT provided by Weidmuller North America Tools under List Price of $200.00 should be replaced. High volume users are offered special pricing. (SPA) Customers are encouraged to find a local service provider to keep costs and turn-around time at a minimum. NOT provided by Weidmuller North America Pre-certified tools are available for sale. Tech Support has access to a list of tools available with certification. We do not stock certified tools to ensure tools certified in Germany are provided to the customer as ordered so we can provide a tool with the longest possible valid certification.
