Currently in Algebra 2: Which Pre-Cal should you take? You get honors credit for both! Pre-Calculus AB Made an 80 or higher in Alg 2 College plan includes math/science focus Prepares you for Calculus AB (4 college hrs) Pre-Calculus BC Made a 90 or higher in Alg 2 Level , 80 in Alg 2 Pre-AP Prepares you for Calculus BC (8 college hrs)

Currently in Algebra 2: Tired of hearing the word Algebra? Let’s switch to the world of Statistics AP Statistics Made an 85 or higher in Alg 2 For Math/Science majors in college Most college degree plans require a type of Stats Intro to Stats/Statistical Reasoning Made an 80 or higher in Alg 2 College plan does not include math/science direction The dual credit is Lonestar Math 1342; verify with your college that it will transfer to your major/degree plan. 1st semester is an Intro class to prepare you for Statistical Reasoning. You must make a 75+ to continue in Statistical Reasoning in the Spring semester.

Currently in Algebra 2: Intro to College Alg/College Algebra Made an 80 or higher in Alg 2 College plan does not include math/science direction The dual credit Lonestar Math 1314; verify with your college that it will transfer to your major/degree plan. 1st semester is an Intro class to prepare you for College Algebra. You must make a 75+ to continue in College Algebra in the Spring semester.

Currently in Pre Calculus: Pre-Calculus AB  Calculus AB AP or Dual (7 college hrs) (4 college hrs) Pre-Calculus BC  Calculus BC AP or Dual (7 college hrs) (8 college hrs) if you take Calc BC from PreCal AB, see the BC teacher to get topics you need to study over the summer AP Statistics , College Algebra, or Statistical Reasoning DO NOT take Algebra 3

AP verses Dual Credit Advanced Placement Course (AP) means you take the course at Kingwood High School. At the end of the school year students take a national standards based test, your score determines if credits are earned. AP credits are accepted at colleges across the nation. Dual Credit is taken like a regular course with a teacher at Kingwood High School. At the end of the course, students take a semester final to complete the college aspect of the course. The course is on your Lone Star College transcript. You need to verify that your 4 year college will accept the course for your degree plan.
