Comparing with good and bad Objective: Use comparative and superlative forms of good and bad.

Change the forms of the adjectives good and bad when you make comparisons. Change good and better when comparing two things. Change good to best when comparing three or more things. One I found a good book at the library Two It is better than the last book I read. Three What is the best book you have ever read?

Change bad to worse when comparing two things Change bad to worse when comparing two things. Change bad to worst when comparing three or more things. One I read a bad story last night Two It was worse than the story we read yesterday. Three It may be the worst story I ever read.

The (better, best) part of all is solving the mystery. Tim’s father won a special award for the (better, best) local writer. I like his last book (better, best) than his first. The first one was not the (bad, worst) book I have read. I have read a (worse, worst) book than that.

We wanted to become ___ readers than we were. (good) Tim gave us the ___ books in the library to read. (good) Some of the books were ___ than we have expected. (bad) Others were much ___. (good) After a month, we reported on the ___ books we had read. (good) The ___ part of all was choosing a favorite book. (bad)

Tim said that writing would be the better practice of all. Our first paper had the worse mistakes of all. The second paper was much good than the first. My first story was not the better work I have done. In fact, it was the bad thing I have ever written.
