Printer Printers are of 2 types: IMPACT PRINTER: Head strike the ink ribbon which in turn strike the paper to print. Eg : Dot Matrix, Daisy wheel and Line Printer. Dot Matrix Printer: Print head have pins(9, 18 or 24) arranged vertically. Head moves back and forth motion Printing receipt or bills Disadv: slow and noisy. Low quality output

Non Impact Printers Eg: inkjet and Laser printers. Ink jet: Head spray ink on the paper to form a desired character or image. Faster , better Quality Dis Adv.: Ink smeared in too heavy, paper to get wet.

Laser Printer Laser Beam Light is passed over the image/character . Character are found on the roller(drum). Drum is passed through the powered ink called toner. Toner strike the drum that were hit by the laser beam. High pressure and heat (effect)-printed High quality printout and fast.
