PSUP Components PHASE 1: Urban Profiling PHASE 2: Regional policy development Capacity building Slum upgrading action plans and programme formulation PHASE 3: Implementation of action plans and national programmes The first Phase called Urban Sector Profile Study consists at supporting city and national actors involved in urban development, through broad-based participatory processes, in assessing their current situation in terms of urban constraints and potentials and to identify common priority needs and areas of intervention. The Second Phase called ‘Regional policy development, capacity building, slum upgrading action plans’ aims to enhance regional, national and local dialogue and exchange of experiences in sustainable slum upgrading policy development; That phase also consists to build technical capacities in slum preventing and upgrading and, to define action plans, sometimes supported by feasibility studies for slum areas, with the aim of implementing activities.
