Get out your Spiral and turn to pages 9 & 10 Warm Up: Identify independent, dependent, control variable, and constants of the following situation. A student believed that women find men without earrings more attractive.

1. Analyzing and Drawing Graphs 2. Spiral Activity Over View of Today 1. Analyzing and Drawing Graphs 2. Spiral Activity

Graphing A graph is a visual display of information Graphs are used to interpret data and information quickly A student noticed that his shower is covered in a strange cloudy slime. His friend tells him that coconut juice will get rid of the strange slime. The student decided to test this out and sprayed half the shower with the coconut juice and the other half with water. After 3 days of cleaning the side of the shower sprayed with coconut juice had no residue of the cloudy slime.

Line Graph Bar Graph Pie Graph Types of Graph we use Line Graph Bar Graph Pie Graph All graphs need the following Main Title X- axis title Y- axis title Data / Information

Draw and Label the Following Main Title All graphs need the following Main Title X- axis title Y- axis title Information Information Y Axis - (Dependent Variable) X Axis - (independent Variable)

Line Graph A line graph is used to show -trends - When given 2 sets of numbers - how data changes over time Temp. Trends

Bar Graph Vertical and Horizontal -Useful for comparing information collected by counting - Or when categories are being used

Vertical Horizontal

Circle Graph or Pie Chart Most useful to show amounts broken down into different parts, mainly percents %

What does it mean to analyze a graph? Interpret or describe what it the graph or chart means

Carefully pick up a “Plicker”

How to write a proper lab report A student believed that women find men without earrings more attractive. A = True B= False How to write a proper lab report

Practicing Complete the Spiral Graphing activity.
