Fairy Tales A Fifth Grade Webquest

Introduction Once upon a time, there was a first grade class who wanted to learn about Fairy Tales. Their Fairy Godmother teacher scoured and searched and found that all fairy tales have elements in common. And so the story begins…

Task You will do the following: *Read a fairy tale of your choice using the Fairy Tales Resources page. *Create a story map of your fairy tale. *Create a character map of the good & evil characters in your fairy tale *Create a character mask of both characters. *Be ready to write your own fairy tale.

Process Step 1 Step 3 Step 4 Step 5 Step 2 Step 6 *Click on the colored box to take you to the correct page. Step 1 Choose a fairy tale to read or listen to. While reading your fairy tale, think of the elements of fairy tales that we have learned about. Step 3 Complete the fairy tale checklist about the fairy tale that you read. Step 4 Create a story map of the fairy tale that you read. Step 5 Look at the two main characters of your fairy tale (the good and the evil) and character map both of them. Step 6 Create a good/evil mask. Click on the masks for the mask template Step 2 **Click on the castle in the lower right hand corner of each page to return to the Process page.

Conclusion Now that you’ve learned about the elements of fairy tales and their characters, you’re ready to write your own fairy tale! (We will write the fairy tales in class.)
