Alleluia, Alleluia

Reading from the Gospel according to St John ALL: Glory to you, Lord The Gospel of the Lord ALL: Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ.

Alleluia, Alleluia

What did you hear in the Gospel today? Jesus didn’t spend his time looking after sheep out in the fields. So who do you think Jesus’ sheep are? What does Jesus say about his sheep in the gospel reading today?    How do we listen to Jesus in our lives?

Jesus is a shepherd of people. He shows us the way to live our lives Jesus is a shepherd of people. He shows us the way to live our lives. He looks after us and cares for us, just as a shepherd looks after his sheep.   We can listen to Jesus in our lives everyday through hearing his word in the readings and through prayer. Jesus also says that he knows his sheep, and that they will never be lost, caring for each and every one of us. No matter who we are or where we come from.

The response is sung, Lord hear our prayer. We pray for the Church throughout the world: that it may welcome and care for everyone as Jesus did. Lord, in your mercy…   We pray for all people throughout the world: that they treat each other with love and respect. We pray for our parish, family and friends: that we may see that all people are our brothers and sisters.

Knowing that our heavenly Father is listening, in the silence of our hearts let us share our unspoken prayers with him.

Lord Jesus, help us to listen and follow you and to care for each other, so that all members of our global family may live together in peace. Amen
