AFTER SCHOOL READING PROGRAMME WHY Provide an opportunity to encourage and support reading Low cost to us/no cost to whanau Opportunity to connect with CHB Libraries – more than just computers!

HOW DID WE DO THIS? Centre was the hub Children enrolled in programme Visit weekly and have stories read to them Complete activity Report in to me, receive incentive Resources, activity books, incentives housed at centre

OUTCOMES Strengthened relationship with library staff Promoted and educated children on library and what it has to offer Promoted reading with both children and parents Rewarded children for their efforts Got to participate in finale
