A lovely afternoon of football was had by all, resulting in a very close competition. However I’m pleased to report that we were declared the winners of the tournament. Staffing news . . . .. I am pleased to say that Mrs Parsons will be returning to school after her maternity leave. She returns on Tuesday 25th April and will be teaching the Year 5 children. Each Monday, Miss Pickthorne will be teaching the class. It will lovely to have her back in school. I’m really pleased that Miss Glennon will be giving one to one support to pupils throughout the school during the Summer term. Stomach upsets: I’m pleased to say that the sickness bug that was prevalent in school last week has now passed. We can now issue revised guidelines concerning the return of children to school after vomiting or diarrhoea: Nursery, Reception, Y1 and Y2 – return after 2 symptom free days Y3, Y4, Y5 and Y6 - return after 1 symptom free day Nut Free School: Thank you very much for your support in sending in only nut free products in your children’s packed lunches. Please check all ingredients when sending in birthday treats, to make sure that they do not contain nuts, traces of nut or were manufactured in a factory where nuts may have been used. Jardine Drama Club: The Drama Club, run by local churches, will be performing Beauty and the Beast at 6.30 on Monday 3rd April at Jardine Youth Club. Please see the poster on the back of the What's on … sheet. It was designed by one of our pupils. .

We raised £151.74 by wearing non-uniform last Friday. That is a fabulous amount, thank you. Epilepsy Awareness: Our children learnt a little bit about epilepsy on Monday. We sold biscuits in aid of the Epilepsy Society and raised £17.63. Thank you for your support. Parking outside the school: Please park considerately when dropping off or collecting your children. Also, please do not leave your engine running as it is bad for the atmosphere and the air that our children are breathing, as well as being a safety risk. New Faces: None this week Free Healthy Cooking Course: Already started but a couple of places left A free course will be starting on Monday 20th March at Tile Hill Library. It will run on a Monday from 1.30 to 3.30pm until 15th May. Please ring 0800 464 0699 for further details Letters this week: Y5 – Bikeability training Costs: Dinner money: £2.10 per day £10.50 per week School Uniform: School Coats - £16.00 Fleeces - £13.50 Sweatshirts – £8.00 / £9.50 (depending on size) Book bags – £4.00 Pump bags – £4.00 Breakfast Club: £ 2.00 Per day After School Club: £ 5.50 Per day 100% Attendance and Punctuality: Our Year 2 class achieved 95.7% attendance this week. Hopefully I will be able to report that one of our classes has achieved 100% attendance next week, now that the sickness bug has passed. Year 1 have won the termly attendance prize. There were 55 lates this week which affected 6 classes. Please ensure your children arrive at school on time. The bell goes at 8.55am. Children need to arrive at school between 8.45am and 8.55am, in order to undertake early morning work. Therefore we will continue to record poor punctuality. If children arrive after 8.55am, they will be recorded in the late book and their parents/carers will be asked to sign the late book and record the reason why. Mrs Devine will be closely monitoring children who are continuously late for school, offering support to those families who need it. If children are regularly late for school, then I will also ask parents/carers to attend a meeting with myself and the Children and Family First Team to address this issue more formally.
