Term 6 will certainly be busy so we will try to keep you as up to date as possible. This is an exciting term so we look forward to lots of events that celebrate learning. The table also explains where your child’s class will be moving to. For the most part, the positions of teaching assistants are in place but there are some appointments to be made before the end of term When these are finalised, all staffing will be shared with you. As always, if you have any concerns, please do make an appointment to see me. Safety Announcement! Please take more care when parking on Oxford Road or in Horseshoe Lane. Please get your children out of the car pavement side and do not park on the yellow zig zags. Alternative parking available at the Parish Hall. BENSON C OF E PRIMARY SCHOOL NEWSLETTER ISSUE 16 Sports News Race For Life Information Thank you to all those who have offered to help with this event so far. It is not too late to volunteer, either running/ walking with the children or marshalling. The arrangements will be confirmed very soon. Packed Lunch Requests: if you haven’t yet requested a packed lunch for 30th June, please send in the slip by Wednesday 14th June. Tennis Festival Maple Class This is to inform all parents that the children will be travelling by coach to this event. Mrs Wilson and Mrs Jarman will be returning with the children to school, by 4.50pm. Please remember to hand in your permission slips. Collection From Clubs Please refrain from parking in the staff car park when collecting children from clubs. This causes a hazard. Athletics Congratulations to maple and Ash class who participated in the athletics event recently. There was good team spirit and it was super to welcome the parents who joined us on that afternoon. Ice cream and lollies will be sold after school on this day. 16th June - Not a FoBS event but a great one for the diary ‘Benson's got Talent' evening – get your forms in ASAP. 25th June - 'It's Your Life’ event at the Parish hall.  Not a FoBS event but FoBS will be there organised by Vikki Baker – come down and say hello. 8th July - Benson School Summer BBQ - keep a look out for the flyer - we need your help with making this event happen – more info to follow after half term. Term 6 - FoBS will be supporting the new intake meetings with nursery and reception, selling uniform and providing refreshments. 20th September - FoBS AGM 27th September– Bag 2 School Having a clear out of jumble at home? – Keep hold of it until September, as we will be collecting second hand clothes, bags and belts, which will turn into cash for FoBS 13th October - Chocolate Bingo  Second Hand Uniform Sales - Ali Kitchener runs this vital resource for FoBS so efficiently, with her very professional helper Charlie Kitchener.  Thank you to both Ali and Charlie for their continued help.  Penny Wars - Thank you to Jennie Batt for organising this fun game - the children love it and our penny jars at home are empty! Oak Class, who raised have won Thank you to all the helpers too. Plant Sale - Looks like we have a lot of green-fingered parents at Benson.  Thank you for coming to buy our plants.  The ‘Good Life’ will pay off for you all when you start picking and eating all your veggies over the summer.  We will have raised approx. £170 from this event this week. Music Grant - FoBS are delighted to announce that we were successful with our grant from the Parish Council of £1000 towards music, watch this space ... - we are funding music days, new equipment will be purchased and further support tools to help our teachers incorporate music into our children’s daily lives.  Thank you to the team of helpers who made applying for this grant happen.  Ali Stokes, Jennie Batt, Sarah Stuart and Charlie Stratford.  In total FoBS will be investing approximately £2500 towards music..   : Benson C of E School, Oxford Road, Benson, Wallingford, OX10 6LX.
