SECURITY: Advice on Devices & Passwords Best practices Passwords IDs and Registration of devices with WUPD (police.wustl.edu, 314-935-5555 or 5-5555 from any campus landline) Best practices: Don’t share passwords, don’t write it down or send it via unencrypted channels Password: Minimum eight characters, one or more upper case letters, one or more lowercase letters, one or more numbers, one or more special characters

WUSTL Key What is your WUSTL Key/Password? WUSTL key password Secret Questions WUSTL Key Password…  Your WUSTL key id and its password secure your access to the university’s system of record like  Webstac.  Your Email, Wifi, and many other systems are tied to this id and password, as well.  The WUSTL key password must contain a minimum of 8 characters and must meet at least two of the following standards of complexity: —One or more lower case letters --One or more upper case letters --One or more numbers --One or more of these special characters Screenshot from https://connecthelp.wustl.edu/HOWTOS/Pages/Changingyourpassword.aspx The university will never ever ask you for your WUSTL key password.  If you receive any email or other communication requesting this password, please contact STS.

Wireless Internet Access How to connect: Connect to any WUSTL Internet network (WUSTL 2.0, WUSTL guest, etc) Open a web browser and navigate to any webpage The computer will pull up a log-in screen where you can enter your WUSTL Key and password Close and restart your browser and you’re done! You only need to do this one time per device
