Border /ˈbɔːdə/ is a line separating two countries, administrative divisions, or other areas. It is the edge or boundary of something, or the part near it.
The orange line is the border of the United States.
Legend /ˈlɛdʒ(ə)nd/ is the wording on a map or diagram explaining the symbols used. For instance, The experimental conditions were as described in the legend to Figure 5.
