Presentation transcript:

Mrs. Olsen’s A New Land: First and Second graders got to hear about the first Thanksgiving from both the perspective of the Wampanoag Indian and the Pilgrim. Most students thought the life of Wampanoag would be more fun. Measuring Up! Students are learning to measure with centimeters and inches. Students are learning to make shapes with their rulers too. Creepy Crawlers! Our two stories in reading were about spiders. We learned a lot of facts from the story Spiders, Up Close. In Anansi and the Talking Melon, students got to hear a folktale about a spider that has been passed down for generations from Africa. First Reconciliation: Students will be participating in their First Reconciliation at St. Gabriel Parish on Wednesday, December 14 at 6:30. Students have been preparing for over 2 months for this special sacrament. We look forward to our special evening. Dec. 9 – No School Dec. 12– Christmas Concert Dec. 14– Sweetness of Christmas Dec. 23-Jan.2– Christmas Break The Advent Post Office will be opening Dec. 1. Students will be selling postcards and stamps before and after school. Second Graders will also be delivering the mail at lunch. We are collecting items for our “suds” drive. Shampoo, soap, detergent, shaving cream are all appreciated.
