PAC Director Lari Young Welcome to the Performing Arts Center (PAC) volunteer work force! You are the reason our patrons and clients speak so highly of this facility and we have an excellent reputation of stellar customer service and positive feedback from our users because of you. If you a returning volunteer, welcome back and thank you for continuing to lead by example. If you are new to us, please seek out our veteran ushers and managers and work with them to build on the fine reputation they have established here. First and foremost HAVE FUN. PAC USHERS JOB DESCRIPTION ASSIST WITH PREPARATION FOR AN EVENT READ AN EVENT TICKET TO GUIDE PATRONS TO SEATING AREAS PROVIDE ACCURATE KNOWLEDGE REGARDING VENUE LOGISTICS, EVENTS, AND BUILDING HISTORY UNDERSTAND AND PERFORM DUTIES OF ASSIGNMENT MAINTAIN CONCERT HALL POLICIES

PAC USHERS JOB DUTIES WHEN ARRIVING Your coat, bags, and personal items should be left at home or in your car at your own risk. (PAC is not responsible for lost or stolen items.) You are assigned your section to work at the discretion of the Student Manager or PAC Staff Member in charge of the event. Make sure you have a flashlight and a seating chart for the section you are working before you leave the usher prep area.

JOB DUTIES WHILE AT ASSIGNED SECTION MONITOR SURROUNDINGS PRIOR TO AND DURING EVENT FOR SAFETY, CLEANLINESS FOOD OR DRINK WILL NOT BE ALLOWED IN THE CONCERT HALL ENTRANCE INTO THE CONCERT HALL WILL ONLY BE ALLOWED WHILE PERFORMANCE IS NOT IN PROGRESS REMIND PATRONS TO SHUT OFF CELL PHONES PRIOR TO START OF PERFORMANCE REMIND PATRONS NO FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY OR RECORDING ALLOWED

PAC USHERS JOB DUTIES CONT. MAINTAIN A PRESENCE AT MAIN CONCERT HALL ENTRANCES DO NOT PROP INNER CONCERT HALL DOORS OPEN KEEP A CALM AND COOL DEMEANOR WHILE DEALING WITH AN UNRULY PATRON MAINTAIN A PROFESSIONAL APPEARANCE NO CELL PHONES, MP3 PLAYERS OR BLUETOOTH HEAD PIECES ARE ALLOWED ON DUTY!!

TIPS FOR QUALITY CUSTOMER SERVICE ALWAYS BE COURTEOUS KNOW INFO ON THE EVENT KNOW INFO ON THE UNIVERSITY AND PAC BE PATIENT BE A GOOD LISTENER & UNDERSTAND THE PATRONS CONCERNS IDENTIFY AND ANTICIPATE PATRON NEEDS ALWAYS MAKE THE PATRON FEEL IMPORTANT AND APPRECIATED HELP THEM TO UNDERSTAND OUR POLICIES DON’T UNDER-ESTIMATE THE POWER OF “YES” GIVE THE PATRON MORE THAN THEY EXPECT

EMERGENCY PROCEDURES FIRE EXTINGUISHERS ARE LOCATED AT ALL CONCERT HALL ENTRANCES PLEASE NOTE WHERE ALL FIRE EXITS ARE LOCATED IN THE CONCERT HALL AN EVACUTRAC SYSTEM IS AVAILABLE EVACUATION PROCEDURES IN AN EFFORT TO EVACUATE THE PAC SAFELY, CERTAIN SECTIONS WILL BE ASSIGNED DESIGNATED EXIT DOORS. CHECK WITH THE MANAGER ON DUTY TO VERIFY WHICH EVACUATION PROCEDURE CORRESPONDS WITH YOUR ASSIGNMENT.

WHO DO I REPORT TO?... IF THERE ARE ANY QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS DURING AN EVENT PLEASE REPORT TO ANY OF THE PAC STAFF OR STUDENT MANAGERS FOR ASSISTANCE.
