California Dream Act Application Instructions Fill out the California Dream Act Application Most recent tax returns and W-2 forms (yours and your parents' if you are under 24) Your driver's license number (if applicable) Mt. SAC School Code: 001245 BOG Fee Waiver Application We encourage all of our students who are California residents to apply for the Board of Governors Fee Waiver (BOGW), which waives enrollment fees and reduces the cost for health and parking fees. Learn more about the BOGW. Before you apply for the BOGW You must be a continuing student at Mt. SAC or have already submitted your application to Mt. SAC. You must be a California resident. You should complete and submit the FAFSA or CA Dream Act application. How to apply for BOGW You may apply for a BOGW at any point during the academic year. You must reapply for a BOGW each year, beginning with the summer term. If you are determined eligible for a BOGW, it will be valid for the entire academic year. Federal Pell Grant FSEOG Perskins Loan Federal Work- Study Program TYPES OF FINANCIAL AID Federal Pell Grant FSEOG Perskins Loan Federal Work- Study Program

Pell Grants Pell Grants are federally- funded, need-based grants given college students to help pay for college. Pell Grants can be awarded up to $5,775 for the 2015 – 2016 award year. If eligible, you may receive a pell grants for a maximum of the equivalent of 12 full-time semester, or 18 full-time quarters. Pell Grants do not have to be paid back. Fill out the FAFSA to be considered for a pell grant. Any Pell Grants-eligible student whose parent or guardian died as a result of military service in Iraq or Afghanistan after 11th,2001 will receive the maximum award amount. These students must be under 24 years old or enrolled at least part time in college at the time of their parents or guardian’s death.

FSEOG FSEOG stands for Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant. The FSEOG is a grant for Pell Grant-eligible students with the lowest Expected Famlily Contrubution(EFC). In order to be considered for an FSEOG, you must first fill out the FAFSA. www.fafasa.gov After you sumit your completed FAFSA, the federal processor will calculate your Expected Family Contribution(EFC) to determine your potential eligibility. Funds are limited, so apply eary!

Perskins Loan The perskin Loan is an educational loa provided by the federal goverment. To be considered for a Perskins Loan, you must complete the FAFSA. The interest rate on the Perskin Loan is 5%. If you receive a Perskin Loan, you will be given a 9-month grace period afer finishing school or dropping below half-time enrollmet status. Repayment on the Perskin Loan will begin after the grace period.

Federal work- study Program Federal work-study is a compus- based Program that provides jobs for students who demonstrate financial need. Eigible students who are awarded funds through this program can then apply for and be hired into work-study jobs, on campus or in the community. You must complete a FAFSA before you apply for a federal work-study job. Since there are limited funds for this program,please check with your school for any deadlines regard your eligibility!
