About Kutaisi #12 public school School has started alterations towards inclusive education since 2008 At school there study 30 pupils with SEN Pupils are seeded according to their age and are assessed by a multidisciplinary group Individual instructional plans are compiled Coordinator of inclusive education and 3 special teachers lead meetings of the multidisciplinary group

Problems of accepting at school people different from others:   Parents of other pupils object to and do not like the idea of their children learning with SEN pupils Resources which teachers find useful when working with SEN pupils at primary and secondary stages are non-existent

Measures taken at school for changing intolerant culture Training teachers in strategies of working with SEN pupils (workshops and discussions) Introducing SEN issues to parents with caution during meetings and group hours Informing parents (informal meetings, excursions) Fun games – “Marketing” for math lessons School events with SEN pupil involvement Doing motor skill exercises in a resource room for developing everyday skills and habits (buttoning, zipping, fastening, etc.) in pupils with SEN School square pupils look after and using it as a resource for biology teachers Physical education lessons conducted with resources specifically for SEN pupils’ needs Model of Paralympics at school
