Therefore, while calculating the retention rate in Class 6 for State Government Schools, the total numbers of students in 2014-15 in MCD are added to the total number of students in State Government School in 2014-15, to reflect the actual number in 2015-16.

Data from Household Survey Praja Foundation had commissioned a household survey to Hansa Research. The survey was conducted in April-June 2016 across the city of Delhi with a total sample size of 29,950 households. Of these, 4,572 households had children going to school. Hence, the education questionnaire was administered further with those (4,572) households only.

Deliberation by Councillors on Education (April 2015 to March 2016) 1198 issues were raised by Councillors on education in all the meetings of corporation Overall 33% Councillors have not raised any issue on education across all the three corporations Only one issue was raised on drop-out, two on low availability of students and five on primary education. In 2013-14, vinod shelar asked maximum questions on education (9); in 2012-13 ajanta yadav and priyatama sawant (8 each)

Deliberation by MLA’s on Education (Monsoon 15 and Winter 15 Sessions) Maximum number of issues on Education were raised by Pankaj Kant Singhal, a total of seven 87 issues were raised by Delhi MLAs on education 28 MLAs have not raised a single issue on Education

What Needs to be Done Accountability in Education Department Focus should be on Quality Education Empower and Strengthen School Management Committees (SMCs) to improve accountability at the school level Focus on teacher trainings, SMC trainings and capacity building; and minimize teacher’s responsibility for unnecessary administrative duties Rigorous filling out of Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) reports and Teacher Inspection reports. Teacher’s evaluation should be linked with their appraisals All the CCE reports and teacher’s inspection reports should be shown on the DISE website Proper and transparent utilization of education budget Tracking and improving learning outcomes, increasing accountability and empower local communities
