Final team building Presentation TEAM Members Name 1 Name 3 Name 2 Name 3 Add names and photos of each team member ARCH 2330 | Building Technology III Fall 2016 Prof. Paul King Final team building Presentation

Project selection & Analysis Include one slide that shows the selected project Quickly evaluate the existing building for: Structure – does the building show structure? Floor to Floor – does the building have appropriate floor to floors? Mechanical – does the building show vertical and horizontal route for mechanical systems and indicate the location of a mechanical room? Egress – does the building include two means of egress and are they properly located? Are they in fire rated enclosures? Does the building include an elevator? Assembly – do the drawings indicate building assembly materials? Can you determine what the façade is made of? Credit Initials

Structural Proposal Show a typical floor plan and a section from your Revit drawings. The section should be cut where it gives a clear indication of structure and special conditions like long spans. If your team has all used the same solution then you only need to show one slide, that can be shared by the team. If different team members proposed different solutions then each team member shows their own slide. Floor plan: Highlight (use color - green) the proposed structural grid, show column locations and provide dimensions. Section: Highlight (use color - green) the floor slabs and the floor to floor dimensions. Slab should indicate appropriate thickness Credit Initials

Mechanical Proposal Show a typical reflected ceiling plan and a section from your Revit drawings. The section should be cut where it will clearly show the vertical and horizontal distribution of mechanical systems. If your team has all used the same solution then you only need to show one slide, that can be shared by the team. If different team members proposed different solutions then each team member shows their own slide. Floor plan: Highlight (use color-orange) the location of the mechanical room &vertical distribution shafts. You may require two plans, one typical and a second that shows the mechanical room. Indicate (use color-red) the two hour rated shaft enclosures. Section: Highlight (use color-orange) the distribution of mechanical systems. Be certain that the section is cut where it shows vertical mechanical shafts and horizontal distribution of mechanical systems. Credit Initials

egress Proposal Show a typical floor plan and a section from your Revit drawings. The section should be cut where it will clearly shows the vertical stairs. You may require more than one. If your team has all used the same solution then you only need to show one slide, that can be shared by the team. If different team members proposed different solutions then each team member shows their own slide. Floor plan: Highlight (use color-yellow) the location of the stairs and elevators and the egress corridors. Indicate (use color-red) 1 hour rated corridors &the 2 hour rated stair enclosures. Be certain that all doors open in the direction of egress. Section: Highlight (use color-yellow) the stairs. Indicate the horizontal routes and vertical routes for egress. Credit Initials

Composite Materials Proposal Show exterior elevations or perspectives. Label materials that you have chosen for your solutions. Materials divide into two categories, large expanses of glass or curtain walls and solid materials. Provide labels to indicate the different materials that will be investigated by your team. For example on the curtain wall you can label the different solutions that the team has chosen, stick system with mullions, butt glazing with cable or rods, window wall etc. For the solid portions of the façade list the different solutions that your team has chosen, precast concrete, metal panels, stone panels or veneer, rain screen etc. This slide is a compilation of the teams solutions. Each team member will show their individual solutions again during the individual presentations. Credit Initials

individual details Presentation Team member name here ARCH 2330 | Building Technology III Fall 2016 Prof. Paul King individual details Presentation

Façade development and details Show wall sections, section details and plan details of your façade construction. Remember that you should show matching plan section and elevation details at appropriate scales. Wall sections are to be ½” or ¾” scale with partial elevations at the same scale. Details are to be drawn at 1 ½” or 3” = 1’-0” scale. All details are to be fully annotated including labels and dimensions using detail items. Start with one image of the full size sheet showing the layout. Plot the detail sheet to PDF > export as an image and include it here in PowerPoint. Color code your details to indicate the following: Structure – green color Water proofing – blue color Fire Stopping – red color Thermal Insulation- yellow color Composite (shows all together) First show the detail (matching plan and section and elevation works best) with no color. Then show the same slide with one color at a time. Highlight both the annotation and show structure (green), water proofing (blue), fire stopping (red), thermal insulation (yellow). Then show the detail with all colors. This is likely 6 slides – one for the full sheet and one for each system (structure, water proofing, fire stopping, thermal and composite) Credit Initials

Research references and credits Include any materials you used to produce your details. This may include photographs and details downloaded from the internet. For all research materials credit the sources and provide a live link to the original. Credit Initials

Final notes (do not include this slide) EACH STUDENT MUST SHOW DETAILS AND RESEARCH FOR AT LEAST TWO MATERIALS FOR YOUR BUILDINGS. ONE MATERIAL IS TO BE THE CURTAIN WALL AND THE SECOND IS TO BE A SOLID MATERIAL. Repeat slides 8-9 for each material and each student. The goal is to speak intelligently about the construction of the materials. The individual slides and the large plotted sheets (22 x 34) are the most important part of the final presentation. All final presentations are based on your individual Revit files. Final presentation includes this PowerPoint, a full set of 11 x 17 drawings plotted from your Revit file and including your AutoCAD Partitions sheet and three full size plotted 22 x 34 sheets. These large sheets should include the same details you featured in your individual PowerPoint presentation. All work must be uploaded to blackboard as a PDF and with original files (Revit, AutoCAD, PowerPoint) Please use this template for all presentations. Teams can make minor graphic modifications including change of the text or background color. Final PowerPoints must be submitted the by 10:30 pm night before the presentation – NO EXCEPTIONS – you will not be to switch or replace your presentation the next day. All work must be plotted before class begins and class will start promptly. All students must participate in presentation and will be asked to complete a jury sheet for each presentation.
