“Two Kinds” Revisit I gave feedback on your Edmodo responses and entered that grade in Synergy. If your group did not post as requested last week, you can post tonight. Remember that when analyzing literature we are looking for what the author does to communicate his/her message. In this case, conflict was the ‘tool’ we focused on and what did its use ‘do’? Solid Sample: In “Two Kinds,” the conflict between mother and daughter represents the conflict between two cultural identities. (could use some more specificity – perspectives?) In “Two Kinds” the pressure from Jing Mei’s mother causes her to abandon hope of fitting the perfect image that she sets for her.
