Developing A UK Fire and Resilience Offer UK Fire Sector initiative supported by DIT Active since mid 2016 Chaired by CFO Lee Howell Inauguration of the Joint International Fire Board Strategic Stakeholder Group as executive and controlling body Marketing Sub-Group also under way

Placing It In Context The UK needs to expand its export success DIT exists to support UK export growth Contributes to ‘Whole of Government effort’ Fire sector currently exports over £300 m pa Significantly increasing this figure appears feasible

The Present Situation Disparate and variable engagement across the fire sector Failure to identify and capitalise on many export opportunities Credibility in jeopardy as a result of fragmented approach Problem recognised by DIT, Fire and Rescue and the Fire Industry
