Conclusions Our search for an identity is universal. Our natural identity only ends in death. Trying to change ourselves by dealing with external “symptoms” is a dead end. Accepting Christ leads to a new identity. Our new identity brings real change now (from the inside out). Our new identity secures eternal life.

Some examples… “I can’t believe you did that again! You call yourself a Christian?!? God must be ashamed of you.” How would you counter that lie?

Some examples… “If other people found out you were doing that, they’d never want anything to do with you. You better keep this a secret.” How would you counter that lie?

Get GRACE into your heart & mind… Colossians 1:21-23 -- 21 Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior. 22 But now he has reconciled you by Christ's physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation -- 23 if you continue in your faith, established and firm, not moved from the hope held out in the gospel. 

Get GRACE into your heart & mind… Romans 8:1-3 -- Therefore, no condemnation now exists for those in Christ Jesus, 2 because the Spirit’s law of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death. 3 What the law could not do since it was limited by the flesh, God did.
