What is the significance of D-Day? Learning objectives: To be able to describe the events of D-Day To be able to assess how significant D-Day was to the Second World War

How might ‘D-Day’ be significant? This is the letter sent by Dwight D Eisenhower, the US General who was Supreme Allied Commander, and later 34th president in 1953. It was sent to all Allied military personnel Read through and discuss with your partner: Why did Eisenhower send the letter? What does he say to try to help the invasion?
