CAS Project

Now your task will be to define An experience as a CAS PROJECT What is a CAS PROJECT? PRIMARY OBJECTIVE “to ensure participation in sustained collaboration” OTHER NECESSARY COMPONENTS Designed with clear purpose & goals Use of the ‘5 Stages’ framework One or more of C, A, & S Minimum of one month from planning to completion Some clear aspect of Service 5 Minutes

Saturday ErSha Book Club REFLECTION Investigation – Set up Calendar & partner with each other. Decide books & themes. Space out any similar ideas. Cross reference with important dates that you may be involved in (SATs, APAC Sports…etc). Preparation – Collect materials Set up, stations & clean up shift assignments. Make sign up sheet and monthly calendar. Organize with admin, staff, and security. Action – Read enthusiastically and loudly. Make sure to include all kids in activities & monitor safety and fun! Demonstration – Was able to really see the impact we have on others. Enjoyed planning of a connected activity. Felt responsible for the enjoyment and well- being of a group of kids NOTE: This is an activity where older students read a book aloud to elementary students on Saturday mornings at our Elementary campus. Each book usually involves a theme and activity that accompanies the reading.

Brief Task INSTRUCTIONS: Partner up with another person or small group and share your ideas or thoughts about this. In the process, be sure to reflect on what experiences you may want to use as a CAS PROJECT Also, be sure you can fulfill the requirements outlined on slide 3 5 Minutes
