College Admissions Data-Class of 2015 81 % will attend 4-year colleges 9% will attend 2-year colleges 4% will take a gap year/planned year off .7% undecided/unknown at time of graduation. .7% will attend “other” colleges (a training program not clearly identified as a 2 or 4 year program)

College Admissions Data-Class of 2015 64% will attend colleges in Ohio 36% will attend college out-of-state * Students will attend college in 19 different states and in the countries of Canada and Italy.

COLLEGE COUNSELING BY THE NUMBERS…SO FAR THIS YEAR… 43-- Students registered to take my FREE College Application Classes in August (27% of the Senior class) 75%--of the seniors and I have spoken about their post-high school plans individually as of 11/1. 250--Individual student and parent appointments 89--College Representative visits have been hosted in the College Counseling Center this fall. 2--College Night evening presentations for Junior and Senior parents 2--College application lunch classes were held in September

COLLEGE COUNSELING BY THE NUMBERS…SO FAR THIS YEAR… 31 Days in October…where I reserved time for application assistance 67% of the Senior class has applied to college (and counting) 630 transcripts (and support documents) have been submitted (and counting) 4271 (Emails I have sent this year)  69 Recommendation Letters written (and counting) 10 Walk-in Days hosted (no appointments needed) 86 students enrolled in the Free Practice ACT event 37 students enrolled in the Free Practice SAT event

Number of Schedule Changes % of Total Students 21.2% decrease in overall schedule changes, resulting in roughly 8 out of every 10 students keeping their original schedule from the first day of school on; which promotes and a stronger continuity for students and teachers to build a foundation for a successful classroom experience from the very first day. - Advanced Course Placement Pilot Year 2: evaluated student schedules and cross referenced other variables (recommendations, standardized test scores, historical grades, areas of interest, etc.) to identify students who may be candidates for advanced level course opportunities. Identified ___ students, with ____ agreeing to enroll in an advanced course ( ___ Honors and ____ AP) that were not originally requesting such courses. Average Q1 grade percentage for the group of students was ____%, which reflects an acceptable placement.

2014-2015 Educational Options Enrollment Of the 136 students participating in some type of Educational Option Program (including Post-Secondary Education Program): Demonstrated Proficiency: 1 student Distance Learning: 84 students (131 course sections) Educational Travel: 1 student Independent Study: 37 students Internship Experience: 2 students Mosaic Program: 6 students (3 juniors, 3 seniors) PSEO: 5 students (23 courses) Note: 108 students represents 15.4% of the student enrollment at BHS during the 2014-2015 academic year (700 students) Distance Learning: BYU Health, Edison, Treca Digital Academy and various courses including Science, Social Studies, English and math content. BYU PE course (in support with a pre and post-test assessment with someone from the school) Independent Study Categories: typically Health, Physical Education, Hebrew or some type of elective Educational Travel: study abroad during the summer (Poland, Israel) Internship: Bexley City Hall, Jeffrey Mansion, teaching internship with teacher / admin in the district (Hope at Cassingham, Keiser with Landis, etc.)

College & career readiness Implementing a Career Development Plan grades 9-12 to support students link course work (current and future) with post-secondary planning and preparation Career Planning begins with students exploring their strengths, interests and abilities through a variety of assessment and inventory tools including: Naviance Do What You Are Learning Style Inventory Career Cluster Finder OhioMeansJobs.com Demand and market trends for specific career paths, areas, and future employability 7-12: will mention college and career planning that is also completed in the middle school. Ohio Means Jobs: notes on what activities are being planned for middle school students

Eastland-Fairfield Career Centers & Satellite Programs What do the Career Centers provide to students? Learning opportunities and employment credentials (certifications) across a variety of career pathways Connection and understanding of the skills, knowledge, interests and abilities necessary in the college/career planning process Provide a “springboard” to college, including college-level courses / credit directly through the career center
