Our expertise Managing distances Lapland is a great development platform for digital applications, such as services for well-being, health care and social services as well as various municipal services. Lapland UAS is a pioneer in the development of virtual pedagogy tools. Digital solutions enable the students’ participation and interactivity in learning situations. In collaboration with the region’s business life, Lapland UAS develops simulation expertise and environments, which can be used to cost-efficiently develop new machines, devices and work methods.

Safety Our expertise The appeal of Lapland as a travel destination is strongly based on the winter and the Arctic conditions, which require special consideration of safety matters in travel services. Lapland UAS develops the safety of Arctic mining. This means consideration of delicate natural conditions, emphasised responsibility and the need to ensure the safety of the whole value chain, from anticipation to risk management and rescue situations. Lapland UAS has strong expertise in network-based operating models. We know the local actors and are capable of utilising their best competencies. Together with our co-operation network, we develop measures that guarantee the safety of everyday life in sparsely populated areas.
