Wildlife in Sossusvlei The Namib Desert Due to the arid conditions of the Namib Desert, most animals that inhabit the region must be able to deal with extreme heat and limited access to water. Predators / Dangers to be on the lookout for: Black-backed jackal Brown hyena Spotted hyena Wild warthogs Peringuey’s adder (poisonous snake) Animals that can be a food source: Gemsock or Springbok antelope Small rodent species (desert pocket mouse, cape ground squirrel) Wild warthogs Methods for trapping/killing animals: Bow and arrows (protection from larger predators and killing larger mammals) Sling shot and rocks (smaller rodents)

Research Reminders: See me to check out an iPad. Don’t forget to keep a running list of all your URLs, including any photos. Remember: a list of websites is not a completed Works Cited! You have to use EasyBib.com to convert web addresses to the right format. When creating each Easy Bib entry, check to make sure the article title is correct. If possible, fill in any missing information as well. If you forget how to create a Works Cited, go look at the PowerPoint on my website. It has step-by-step instructions! Make sure to completely address all aspects of each component of the project. There are multiple parts to each section, so be sure to read the assignment sheet carefully.
