Medical Diagnostic Center- L.E.M Presentation

GENERAL LEM is an advanced and high quality laboratory for pathology and cytology, which operates under license of the ministry of health in Israel and according to CAP, (College of American Pathology), ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 27799.

GENERAL LEM- Laboratories Ltd. is one of the leading and largest provider of clinical laboratory services in Israel for Histopathology and Cytopathology using state-of-the-art technologies for a wide range of diagnostic procedures. It is located in the Kiryat Weizman Science Park in Nes Ziona, Israel.

Customer Service An extensive network linking to our customers allows downloading of pathology results directly to Doctor's computers that ensures close working relationships with clinical colleagues and consistency of reporting.

CLIENTS Among the laboratory’s clients are health funds, insurance companies, the ministry of security, medical centers, private and independent doctors, pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, academic institutions and others.

PATHOLOGY L.E.M-Laboratories is primarily engaged in routine histological as well as special histochemical staining methods, processing and interpretation of biopsies, operative specimens, fine needle aspirations (FNA) and cytological preparations.

PATHOLOGY The following biopsies are diagnosed on daily basis: General Surgical Pathology Dermatology Gastrointestinal Genitourinary Gynecology Kidney Pathology Lymph Node Hematopathology Orthopedic Pediatric Pulmonary Deontology Pathology

HIC In the LEM laboratory, Immunohistochemistry tests are performed. The LEM laboratory provides the most advanced examination and identification methods for research and medicine purposes. The protein coloring is done by a unique apparatus, one of the most advanced in the world

General Cytopathology We also assess Fine Needle Aspirations (FNA) and Fine Needle Aspiration Biopsies (FNAB). Liquid-base cytology is done on daily basis for Sputum cytology, Gastrointestinal brushing, Urine cytology, Impression smear, Scrapings cytology - skin, eye etc.

Gynecological Cytopathology We accept all gynecological-related specimens such as cervical and endometrial specimen. Real-time correlations between a patient's prior abnormal Pap smear read at L.E.M- Laboratories and her current cervical biopsy aids our clients in providing quality care for their patients.

Gynecological cytology Special stains and ancillary tests Papanicolaou Giemsa Stains for fungi, bacteria and parasites Immunoperoxidase

PAPSMEAR PAPSMEAR the conventional method for Pap testing that involves smearing a portion of a woman's cervical cell sample onto a glass slide

THINPREP The liquid based Thin Prep Pap Test - Hailed as a revolutionary development in cervical cancer screening. It involves a different process whereby virtually the entire cervical cell sample is rinsed into a vial, hence the same samples can then be re-used to screen for HPV.

Overcoming the Inherent Limitations of the Conventional Pap Smear Thin Prep Majority of cells not captured Non-representative transfer of cells Clumping and overlapping of cells Obscuring material Virtually all of sample is collected Randomized, representative transfer of cells Even distribution of cells Minimizes obscuring material . National Cervical Screening Program The National Cervical Screening Program aims to reduce morbidity and deaths from cervical cancer, in a cost-effective manner through an organized approach to cervical screening. The program encourages women in the target population to have regular Pap smears.

National Cervical Screening Program Cervical cancer is one of the most preventable and curable of all cancers. Since the introduction of the National Cervical Screening Program, the mortality from cervical cancer has halved. from 3.9 deaths per 100,000 women in 1991 to 1.9 deaths per 100,000 women in 2007.

Early detection treatment LEEP – Loop Electro-surgical Excision Procedure

HPV The bio-molecular department receives samples from the cervical spread and extract its human DNA to search, using biological chips, for the viral infection. The virus scanning is performed using on of the most advanced systems in the world today.

Radical Hysterectomy for Cervical CA

RESEARCH In addition to the test the laboratory performs regularly, there is an extensive basic research focused on the early discovery and the study of cancer.

Quality Management L.E.M- Laboratories has a total commitment to quality. There is a formal Quality Assurance Program, which provides a systematic method for continually monitoring and evaluating the quality of our laboratory service.

Turnaround time Turnaround Time - Every effort is put in place to return routine diagnostic interpretive reports within 48 to 72 hours.
