Requesting Letters of Recommendation Private Schools Only There is a process Students must provide a completed self evaluation provided by counseling Students must give a minimum of 2 weeks notice and the deadline to request a letter is November 18th, 2016

College Application Process for Community College Students Applications for Community College students take place during March/April Field Trips to Fullerton College and other surrounding community colleges will be available 2nd semester Application workshops will be held to assist filling out the applications www.cccapply.org

Scholarships/Financial Aid Scholarships are a year-long process -See the College and Career Center -www.fastweb.com -icanaffordcollege.com The financial aid process begins in November -Two types: government aid/school aid -Cal-Grants -FAFSA Application: www.fafsa.ed.gov (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) -Financial Aid Night-Nov 9th You apply for all Cal Grants when completing your FAFSA and having your school provide a verified GPA to CSAC. Selection is based on financial need, academic performance, and other factors. Cal Grant A is available to assist with registration fees for low- and middle-income students; for Cal Grant B, disadvantaged background is also considered; for Cal Grant C, vocational interest and aptitude are considered. SENIORITIS Seniors start out strong at the beginning and slow down by the end Can become complacent Can become defensive -I’m going to be 18 soon! -I’m an adult! -I got my college acceptance, my second semester grades don’t matter!
