Using Phones in the Classroom You may use phones with teacher permission In order to use a phone, you must have a phone card or mat (at the front black shelf) The phone card must be on the top of your desk Your phone needs to remain on the phone card at ALL times If you do not follow the expectations, you will lose the phone privilege for that activity/day.

Using Laptops in the Classroom Remember, they are a learning tool, they are expensive, and need to be treated with care. Line up and wait your turn at the LSU. Unplug the laptop carefully. WALK to your seat. Open the lid and turn it on. Press CONTROL, ALT and DELETE at the same time to get the log in screen.

First Log In Username: your Kyrene student number First time logging in, use the password: Student1 You will be prompted to change your password. Use these guidelines to create one: cannot be the same as any of your last 10 passwords cannot be your User Name or include your username. must be at least 8 characters and must include the following: Upper case letter, lower case letter, and number(s) REMEMBER YOUR NEW PASSWORD!

Launch Google Chrome You can search for facts about your country by entering the name in a Google Search. Remember to read more than one website. If information is different on different websites, don’t use that “fact”. Remember not to copy facts straight from the website. Put them into your own words by using a synonym, changing the order of the words, adding words to explain, etc. Never include words or ideas that you don’t understand yourself!

Recording Information You are encouraged to write down your facts in your World History notebook or on a sheet of paper, so you can decide how you want to present them in your poster. Double check the spelling of new or difficult words to make sure they are correct.

Returning Laptops Shut your laptop down by clicking the “Windows” button in the bottom left. Click Power, then Shut Down. WAIT FOR THE SCREEN TO GO BLACK! Replace your laptop in the LSU.
