The Enriched Model of Dementia This was developed by Tom Kitwood in 1997 It is a psychosocial model that gives equal importance to the following components of human existence: Neurological Physiological Psychological Sociological

The Enriched Model of Dementia All of these factors have an effect on how individuals experience dementia.

Experience of Dementia = Life history- life story/life style/future wishes Personality Health Neurological impairment – capacity for doing/cognitive support needs Social psychology – life at the moment
