Hidden Gems of the Essential Oil World: lesser-known essential oils that you don’t want to miss out on When it comes to using essential oils, we all have our favorites. If you have used essential oils for a while, you probably have a top four or five oils that are your “go-to’s” in everyday life. If you are new to essential oils, you will soon find a few oils that you like the best and that come in handy often. In the world of essential oils, you’ll often hear mention of the popular oils like Lemon, Lavender, Peppermint, Frankincense, and more. While these essential oils are very useful, today I would like to talk to you about some of the lesser-known essential oils that you will definitely want to have in your oil collection. Although these essential oils may not be as frequently mentioned as the popular oils, they are still very valuable, and hold unique benefits for us as users. As you learn about these lesser-known essential oils and try them for yourself, they might just make their way into your list of favorite oils.

Arborvitae Arborvitae essential oil has significant purifying properties and a warm, earthy aroma. Acts as a natural wood preservative and insect repellent Holds powerful cleansing and purifying properties Can help protect against seasonal and environmental threats Promotes calming, peaceful feelings Arborvitae is a surprisingly versatile oil as its cleansing and purifying properties make it useful for protecting the body against environmental and seasonal threats, while its warm, woody aroma makes it useful for meditation and promoting a peaceful environment. In addition to thwarting environmental or seasonal threats, Arborvitae can be useful for preserving and polishing wood furniture or finishes, and is also a powerful insect repellant. Now that we’ve gone over some of the benefits of Arborvitae, here are a few ways you can use the oil: - To use as a natural insect repellant, apply Arborvitae to the ankles and wrists before going on a hike - To use as a wood polish, combine 4 drops of Arborvitae with 2 drops of Lemon - To reap the purifying benefits of Arborvitae oil, add a few drops to a spray bottle with water and spray on surfaces around the home Share any of your favorite uses for Arborvitae oil, or tell the audience why you like it. If you have a bottle of Arborvitae, you can pass it around for the audience to smell.

Black Pepper While it holds significant internal benefits for the body, Black Pepper essential oil can also be used in the kitchen to add sharpness and spice to your favorite foods. Internal benefits: antioxidant support*, aids digestion*, supports healthy circulation* Can help soothe anxious feelings Enhances flavor of food (meats, salads, soups, etc.) *These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent disease. Although Black Pepper may seem a little off the beaten path, it is a highly beneficial oil with many uses for the body, in the kitchen, and more. One of the greatest advantages of Black Pepper oil is the internal benefits it holds for the body. Black Pepper oil contains a high amount of chemical components that are known for their antioxidant activity, which makes the oil useful for warding off environmental and seasonal threats.* In addition to antioxidant support*, Black Pepper oil can support healthy circulation and aid in digestion. To experience the internal benefits of Black Pepper, simply place 1-2 drops in a veggie capsule and swallow. In addition to the significant benefits that Black Pepper oil holds for the body, the scent can also help to soothe anxious feelings. When feelings of anxiousness arise, place a few drops of Black Pepper oil in your diffuser, and allow the unique, sharp, spicy aroma to calm these unwanted or stressful feelings. Lastly, as you can imagine, Black Pepper oil is extremely useful for cooking. When you want to utilize the spicy nature of Black Pepper for your food, consider adding it to your favorite entrees, meat dishes, soups, or salad concoctions. Black Pepper oil can be strong, so try dipping a toothpick into the Black Pepper essential oil bottle, and then stirring that toothpick in the other ingredients. Using a full drop of Black Pepper oil could be overpowering, so remember—you can always add more oil, but you can’t take it out once you’ve added it. Share any of your favorite uses for Black Pepper oil, or tell the audience why you like it. If you have a bottle of Black Pepper oil, you can pass it around for the audience to smell.
