2016-2017 OEISD Employee handbook Training and Review

Goal: To provide our staff a resource to the district’s procedures & Expectations as employees of the district Directions: review the following slides. Use your employee handbook and refer to the sections and pages noted. Once you have completed the training, remove the signature page from the handbook and submit it to your supervisor. The Next to last page of the power point is an additional signature page. Remove, sign and submit with your handbook signature page. Any and all questions are welcome. Thank you oeisd staff!

Check off each one as you review and refer to our Employee Handbook ____ 1. Table of Contents – Pages 2-4- There are 13 Bolded Sub-Headings- Review those to familiarize yourself with the organization of the information contained in our employee handbook. While all pages of the handbook may not be reviewed page by page, I understand it is my responsibility to be familiar with all content and follow the procedures as provided in the handbook. _____ 2. Turn to the top of page 34 in our Handbook _____DH Local is board adopted policy regarding employee conduct. Please read the opening paragraph on page 34, and the 8 standards of conduct we are all required to follow at all times. Page 37 Employees shall not engage in prohibited harassment including sexual harassment, of other employees, unpaid interns, student teachers or students. Individuals who believe they have been discriminated or retaliated against or harassed are encouraged to promptly report such incidents to the campus principal, supervisor or appropriate district official. Reporting Child Abuse- Page 38 All employees are required by state law to report any suspected child abuse or neglect to a law enforcement agency within 48 hours of the event that led to the suspicion. Reports to Child Protective Services can be made to the Supervisor/Campus Principal or to the Texas Abuse Hotline (800-252-5400) State law specifies that an employee may not delegate to or rely on another person or administrator to make the report
